About Enrique Escobar

Enrique Escobar currently serves as the Junior Vice Commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3559 in Miami Beach, FL.  Enrique’s career reflects a unique blend of military discipline and creative leadership. From serving his country in Vietnam to producing world-class advertising campaigns, he has demonstrated commitment, excellence, and adaptability throughout his life.

 

Military Service 

Enrique Escobar honorably served in the United States Air Force from 1967 to 1971. He completed Basic Training at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, TX, followed by Technical School Training as an Air Traffic Controller at Biloxi AFB, MS, and Certification at Columbus AFB, MS.

He was later assigned to Air Traffic Controller duties at 1972nd Communications Squadron at Da Nang AFB, Vietnam, the 1948th Communications Squadron at Pleiku AFB, Vietnam, and Kelly AFB, San Antonio, TX.

For his dedication and service, Enrique received the Air Force Commendation Medal. He was also awarded the Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon.

 

Civilian Career 

Following his military service and attending college at Southwestern College, Enrique was hired by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as an Air Traffic Controller. He worked 11 years at San Diego International Airport, Portland International Airport, and Troutdale Airport.

He then transitioned into the advertising and media industry. He founded Escobar Productions, serving as President, where he produced commercials for leading New York advertising agencies.

He later joined Ogilvy & Mather as an Agency Producer, where he produced major campaigns for American Express, Kodak, and Huggies.

As a Freelance Agency Producer, Enrique collaborated with well-known agencies including SCPF, Y&R, KREE8, and Scoppechio, before taking on roles with Kraft Foods as a Production Specialist and with The Landgraf Group as an Agency Producer.
